16 Months – 2 Years

Our Wrens Room provides a warm, stimulating and nurturing
environment where children continue to grow in confidence,
independence and curiosity. As one of our largest rooms, Wrens
offers plenty of space for children to explore, play and develop
through a wide range of engaging experiences and activities.
At this stage, children are becoming more active, social and
eager to discover the world around them. Our caring team
supports communication and language development, physical
development, sensory exploration and early independence,
while encouraging secure relationships and confidence through
play and daily routines.

Children enjoy a variety of stimulating experiences including
messy play, creative activities, music, outdoor learning and
imaginative play. These opportunities encourage problemsolving, resilience, confidence and early friendships while
allowing children to learn through exploration and discovery.
Children also enjoy weekly Debutots sessions, combining
sensory storytelling, music and imaginative play to encourage
communication, early language development and a love of
stories.

We work closely with parents to ensure each child feels safe, supported and happy during their transition from Robins Room. Children will usually move from Wrens to Sparrows during the term following their second birthday, although every transition is based on each child's individual development and readiness.

Rising 3’s at The Study Nursery

Children will progress to Sparrows the during the academic year that they turn three years old.

A continuation of our Wrens, our Sparrows promotes endless possibilities. Filled with resources to further support learning opportunities, our Sparrows are well supported to discover how to use their imagination, build on their own interests, and express their own ideas. Daily opportunities to explore all areas of learning from construction to role play, creative art and music, early maths and literacy, continue to build each child’s confidence, independence and social skills. We also continue to focus on effective communication and language skills.

As with Wrens, our Sparrows spend time learning through play both indoors and out and we will support your child’s eagerness to learn through a balanced blend of adult-led and child-led activities and play. We recognise the uniqueness of each Sparrow in our care, and the teachers who know them well will be on hand to engage each child in their own individual style of learning. By the end of their ‘Nursery’ journey, our Sparrows will be fully equipped to embark on their pre-school journey in Owls.

From engaging arts and crafts sessions that unleash their creativity to interactive story times that spark a love for literature, each day brings a unique blend of educational and entertaining experiences. Our dedicated team ensures a nurturing environment where toddlers explore, discover, and thrive, making each day a stepping stone in their early childhood education.
