At The Study Nursery, we believe children learn best through meaningful play, nurturing relationships and inspiring experiences. Our approach to learning and development

S – Secure Relationships
Children feel safe, valued, and emotionally secure through warm, responsive care. This is the foundation for all learning.

Our Curriculum Intent

Robins (9–16 Months) — A warm, nurturing space where babies feel safe and valued. Focus: secure attachments, sensory exploration, early communication (sounds, gestures, first words), movement confidence (crawling, walking), simple routine independence, and enjoying songs/stories.

Wrens (16–24 Months) — Nurturing growing independence, communication, and curiosity through play and relationships. Focus: expanding vocabulary/phrases, building relationships, confident exploring, simple problem-solving, physical skills (climbing, balancing), following routines, and self-care independence.

Sparrows (2–3 Years) — Inspiring confident, independent learners eager to explore and connect. Focus: confident communication, friendships and empathy, daily routine independence, curiosity and questioning, early math thinking, love of books/mark-making, and physical coordination.

Owls (3–4 Years) — We aim to develop resilient, independent learners who think creatively, solve problems and are ready to embrace new challenges.

Puffins (Pre-School 4+) — We aim to prepare children for a successful transition to school by developing confident, capable and enthusiastic learners.

  • Apply secure foundations in early reading, writing and mathematics
